Welcome to my Next Chapter

I’m a reporter and presenter for ITV News West Country and have been lucky enough to work in the television industry for the last 28 years. But I’m also moving on to my Next Chapter as a fiction author.

I’ve now published five books. They’re all uplifting ‘fiction therapy’ - cozy romances and stories of friendship and love which also touch on the tougher side of life. They’re set in the fictitious Cherry Blossom Park and Strawberry Village in Bristol. (You can sample all my novels for free on the bookshop page.)

All of them have at least one therapist in them (based on years of research and a fascination with mental health) who may be able to help you with your own ups and downs, as they help my characters find their way. I hope my stories will make you feel warm, seen and come away feeling we’re all in this funny old world together.

I truly believe if we’re feeling stuck we can always begin a Next Chapter - however frightening this may feel! My podcast is full of inspirational people who’ve done just this. These conversations not only help me with my Next Chapter, I’m hoping they will help you with yours.

I also live in Bristol (not Cherry Blossom Park or Strawberry Village although sometimes I wish I did!) I live with my husband and fellow journalist, Rob Murphy, our two sons and Cookie, our Labrador. We spend most of our time navigating football, dog walks and me trying to get more pink and less mud in the house. All that, while trying to discover a better Rocky Road than the one at Leigh Woods. Seriously, is there?
