Sometimes losing everything is the only way to find yourself.
Grace Leven seems to have it all—CEO of a national TV channel, a picture-perfect family, and a life others envy. But behind the glossy façade, cracks are forming. Her career is on the line, her marriage has crumbled, and her best friend has disappeared.
Lost and alone, Grace stumbles upon the Strawberry House Hotel, a haven in the idyllic Strawberry Village. Here, surrounded by a community that values truth and connection over social media perfection, Grace begins to ask the one question she’s been avoiding: What really happened to me?
Heartwarming, empowering, and beautifully reflective, What Really Happened to Me is a story for every woman who’s ever wondered if there’s more to life.
“Characters as compelling, but this one even more gripping”

Why I wrote this book:
‘Having it all’ is a phrase my generation of women have grown up with. But what does ‘having it all’ actually mean?
I loved the idea of meeting Grace Leven – a woman who in the eyes of the world really does ‘have it all.’ An enormous and glamorous career, a husband, daughter, a huge house in one of the poshest parts of London. But what happens if you get there, having worked and strived for decades to be just where you are – only to realise it feels completely and utterly wrong?
If ‘having it all’ doesn’t lead to peace and contentment, then what does? And how is it that an intelligent, hardworking woman can find herself in the most dreadful, lonely and isolated place? She’s done, after all, what she was supposed to – so why wasn’t it enough?
What happens if you realise at fifty-three years old just about everything about your life is wrong? What if you feel it’s too late to change?
The truth is, as Grace learns when surrounded by the right kind of love, it’s never too late and there’s always another way. There is still hope, and while it’s incredibly painful, sometimes losing what’s not meant for you is the only way to find what is.
